We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager for our Red Deer location. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for all QA activities at the mill.

Responsibilities:

    Maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and development of new QA and coordination procedures as required
    Development and implementation of effective corrective actions for internal concerns and customer complaints
    Analysis and action on supplier and production KPIs for continual improvement
    Qualification of key suppliers and management of their quality
    Interpretation and communication of industry or customer standards/specifications to inspection and operations personnel
    Oversight of NDT and inspection practices and procedures
    Management of product testing and certification
    Participation in internal and external audit teams

Requirements:

As a Quality Assurance Manager, the individual must have experience working with interdepartmental teams at all levels of management with a positive attitude open to new ideas to accomplish his/her tasks. As well, the individual must have experience analyzing data, writing technical reports, identifying next steps and presenting key results.

    University degree in materials/metallurgical, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a technical degree with specific experience.
    Minimum of 5 years’ (preference for more) experience as a manager including management of least 5 individuals.
    Strong preference for knowledge of pipe and /or steel mill processes and operations
    Knowledge of industry standards including; API & CSA tubular product, ASME or API welding, and ASTM mechanical and NDE testing.
    Understanding of ISO quality standards and quality management systems
    Preference to six sigma green or black belt.
    Trained and certified in quality auditing
    Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    Ability to work effectively with hourly and management ranks
